Obituary for Dale W. Conrad

Dale W. Conrad, age 87, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2018 at Alden Courts of Shorewood. He was born on April 10, 1931 in Aurora, IL.

Dale is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Patricia (nee Reed); his loving children, Connie (Ray) Connelly of Random Lake, WI, Jeff (Peggie) Conrad of Joliet, IL, Greg (Darlene) Conrad of Plainfield, IL, Deb Bowen of Plainfield, IL, Keith (Diane) Conrad of Plainfield, IL and Karla (Jon) Stratton of Plainfield, IL; his nineteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren Becky (Darren) Fenster, Tayten and Paisley of Bismarck, ND, Michael (Cheryl) Connelly, Ty and Garrett of Compton, IL, Melissa (Shannon) Thomas, Carter and Lauren of Mazon, IL, Kelly (Scott) Elam, Colin of Shorewood, IL, Staci (Doug) Marcis of Chicago, IL, Jackie (Nick) Pullara, Kate of Joliet, IL, Tim Conrad, Adi of Plainfield, IL, Arron Conrad of Plainfield, IL, Ean (Fiancé Justine) Conrad of Joliet, IL, Amber (Randy) Simonic, Jozef, Zander and Addizyn of Joliet, IL, Angie (Ryan) Boyce, Nicholas and Jonathon ofShorewood, IL, Brad (Trisha), Jack of Romeoville, IL, Brittany (John) LaSota of Plainfield, IL, Matthew (Fiancé Catherine) of Longview, TX, Kristin (Fiancé Joe) of Plainfield, IL, Paul Conrad of Plainfield, IL, Shanell (Tony) Lawson of Joliet, IL, Janeal (Brian) Van of Shorewood, IL, Bryce Stratton of Plainfield, IL; his brother, Bob Conrad of Tenants Harbor, ME and sister in-law Madalyn Buss of Plainfield, IL, and brother in-law Hurley (Mary) Reed of Murrieta, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Agnes Conrad and sister, Elaine (the late George) Blatner.

Dale graduated from Aurora East High School. Courageously served in the Korean war returning home in 1953 when he met Pat, the love of his life. Dale then had a very successful career in the meat industry working for National Tea Company and Aurora Food Service. He and Pat had a passion for their second home in Florida for many years where they enjoyed playing golf. Family meant everything to Dale, he had a great love for the many annual family get togethers.

Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 4:00until 8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 10 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2500 Arbeiter Road, Joliet. Interment will follow at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.
