Dolores grew up in Naperville and was always proud to be a Drendel girl! She graduated from Naperville Community High School with the Class of 1944. She attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL for three years. Like many Naperville youths, Lorie worked at the Prince Castle through high school and worked at Kroehler Manufacturing Company during the summers so she could augment the Illinois State Scholarship she won.

When the family lived in Park Forest, Dolores worked in the Flossmoor Middle School Library until the family moved back to DeKalb. She then worked at the DeKalb Bank, first in bookkeeping, then in auditing and then as Assistant Cashier, Accounting, until she left the bank. Dolores belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, DeKalb Business and Professional Women's Club and National Association of Bank Women, Rockford Illinois group.

Dolores moved to Brookdale of Lisle in 2014 to be close to family and was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville. She enjoyed many of the activities offered at Brookdale, and during these years, Dolores discovered she had a new talent - painting! Her family will cherish her paintings.

The family would like offer special thanks to the staff of Brookdale of Lisle for their many years of providing loving care to Dolores.
