Obituary for Lee Kinnan Fazzari

Lee Kinnan Fazzari, age 65, a resident of Aurora, IL and formerly of Flanders, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2018 at her home. She was born on September 23, 1952 in Wellsboro, PA.

Lee is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, John Fazzari; her sons, Andrew J. “Drew” (Jenna Leigh, nee Raber) Fazzari of Grand Rapids, MI and Mark A. Fazzari of Pittsburgh, PA; her grandson, Fox Rowan Fazzari; her parents, Richard and Barbara Kinnan; her siblings, Gay (Michael) Deats, Sharon (Irene Rathke) Kinnan, Susan (Tom) Reinsel and Scott (Wendy) Kinnan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Anthony and Marie Fazzari.

Lee was a 1970 graduate of Williamson Jr. Sr. High School, Lawrenceville, PA. After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University in 1973, Lee worked as a Home Economist for the Rural Electric Co-operative in DuBois then the Pennsylvania State Extension Service in Montgomery County. After marriage in 1984, John and Lee moved to Baltimore, MD then NJ. In NJ, Lee was administrative assistance to the Director of Development for the United States Golf Association, Far Hills. Drew and Mark were born in NJ. Lee and family moved to Illinois in 1994. Here she worked various positions which provided school hours. Most recently Lee worked for Tiger Direct then ITsavvy/B2B in the accounting departments.

In high school and college, Lee was a member of the state 4H. Lee was an avid supporter of Penn State in many areas and regularly attended fall football games with her family and college freinds. Genealogy was a deep passion of Lee’s and she compiled extensive research on several generations of her family and their spouses’. Lee was fascinated by snowflakes and has a vast snowflake ornament collection.

Lee was an active member of the River Glen Presbyterian Church, Naperville and the Winfield Township Democratic Organization.

Lee’s grandson Fox was the joy of her life.

Lee loved Wonder Woman. She was the Wonder Woman of our family and an enthusiastic supporter of women’s rights and her community.

For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Lee’s life, memorials to River Glen Presbyterian Church, American Cancer Society, Presbyterian Ministries, Loaves and Fishes of Naperville or The Pennsylvania State University.

Family and friends are invited to gather together on Saturday, June 2, for an 11:00 AM Memorial Service at River Glen Presbyterian Church, Naperville. Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville, IL was entrusted with arrangements.

A second Memorial Service will be conducted in Pennsylvania later in the summer.
