Obituary for Mildred N. Bigler

Mildred McKarns “Mid” Bigler, age 98, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Sunrise North Assisted Living, Naperville, IL. Mid was born January 18, 1921 in Bryan, OH, the daughter of the late William Roy and Anna Sparling McKarns. She married Lawrence E. “Gene” Bigler in December 1941. Gene passed away in 2007. Mildred was Valedictorian of her Bryan HS class of 1939, and then graduated from Fort Wayne Business College. Mid liked to help. She helped with Cub Scouts, at church and with teaching English to adults. Mildred and her husband, Gene traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Canada, and Europe. She played the piano and liked classical music. Mid was loved by many.

Surviving are her son, Jim and his wife, Theresa of Woodridge, IL, son, Larry of Santa Monica, CA, brother, William McKarns of Bryan, OH, grandchildren, Genny and James, great-grandchildren, Jack (5), Josh (2),Georgia (2), and ten nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. Services and interment are private.
