Obituary for Melissa K. Bonow

Melissa K. Bonow, age 51, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL passed away on July 26, 2019 at Edward Hospital, Naperville, IL surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 20, 1968 in Santa Maria, California.

Melissa is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, William B Bonow; loving daughters, Kaela and Hannah Bonow; beloved mother, Nancy Williams; brother, Leslie J. (Cathy) Williams; nephews, Matthew, Joey, Tommy, and Mikey Williams; mother in-law, Barbara (Aaron) Deer.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Leslie Williams Jr.

Melissa grew up in Naperville, IL and attended Naperville Central High School, graduating in 1986. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Art Degree from Illinois State University in 1990. She enjoyed her tenure as a stay at home mom while her daughters were small. Once Kaela and Hannah entered grade school, she joined the Plainfield School District as a teacher’s assistant with early education and special needs students. She spent her past four years working for Plainfield School District 202.

Melissa loved enriching the lived of children. She was an enthusiastic band parent as well as a past president of Plainfield North Band Boosters. She enjoyed going to ISU football games to cheer on her alma mater and to see Kaela perform in the marching band. She took delight in cooking and sharing meals with her family and friends.
