Obituary for Carolyn Ann Larsen

Carolyn Ann Larsen (87), of Naperville, IL,formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at her home at The Springs of Monarch Landing in Naperville, IL. She was born on March 20, 1932 in Chicago, IL, to Harry Eugene Cowles and Dorothy Ella Siebold. Carolyn had one brother, Robert E Cowles.

Loving mother of MG (Ret) Gregory A.(Kathryn) Schumacher; devoted grandmother of Eric Schumacher and Sara Schumacher Field; doting great grandmother of Ella Field, Quinn Field, Ethan Schumacher, Ezra Schumacher, and Lincoln Field; dear Christian sister of Sharon Morse of Naperville.

Carolyn attended and graduated from Parker High School in Chicago. After graduation from high school, she went to work for Solo Cup and then US Steel as an administrative assistant.

She enjoyed being an active member of Elim Baptist Church on Pulaski Rd.Upon her move to the suburbs she attended Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Warrenville. Carolyn was an avid reader. Whether it was with the church or independently,she loved to study the Bible. She also enjoyed watching films and particularly loved musicals. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held out of state. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made in Carolyn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Residential Hospice Foundation.
