Obituary for Ann P. Snow

On May 12, 2020, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ann Patricia (nee Jakimiw) Snow passed away at Alden of Waterford in Aurora, IL. She was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1921. She had just turned 99 years old.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard LeRoy Snow, her son, David Alan Snow, her daughter, Vicki Lynn Snow, and her grandson, Jordan Snow.

She is survived by one son, her oldest, Ronald Craig Snow (Kathy Truxes Snow); her grandchildren, Erica Michelle (Darrell) Holmstrom, Kimberly Alexis Snow of California, and Ronald Criag Snow II of Colorado and two grand-daughters in California. Ann also has a great-granddaughter, Madisyn Alexis Hamann, two great-grandsons, Travyn and Talyn Holmstrom and four great-grandchildren in California.

Ann was born in Stamford, Connecticut and met Richard of Binghamton, New York, at an Army Air Force base in Alabama where Richard was a Captain in Military Transport. She was visiting a friend there. They were married a year later, on October 16, 1945 and had their first child on September 7, 1946.

Ann was a caring and thoughtful mother and housewife for all of her life. After Richard passed away on January 20, 2015, her son Ronald, supervised her care first at her home, then her move to Alden of Waterford. There she immediately formed friendships with both residents and staff. She was known for her sense of humor and quick wit with everyone she talked to; and at her Bingo games, where she was always a big winner. She was an avid Cubs fan who watched most games ever since moving with Richard to Naperville, IL in 1969, and got to see them win the World Series.

During the last few days with us she kidded her granddaughter Erica that she was coming back to visit her, to which Erica responded as long as she didn’t scare her.

She will be forever missed.
