Obituary for William Peterson

William “Pete” Peterson, age 90 of Plainfield, formerly of Franklin Park, IL passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 8th at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born June 10, 1927 in Chicago, IL to his loving late parents, Carl and Wilheimina Peterson. Cherished husband of Janice Peterson, wedded on May 3, 1952.

Beloved dad of William (Betsy) Peterson, Kimberly (Michael) English and Carl (Trisha) Peterson. Dearest For For of Erik (Heather) Peterson, Elisa (James) Keane, Carl August and Sara Peterson, and Joseph English. Adored great-grandpa of Lilliana and Cash Peterson, and Casey Keane. Fond brother of the late, Ray, Paul, Martha, Conrad, and Hazel. Dearest uncle of Miriam Stocks, Rene Heflin, Eloise Emmert, and Dan Peterson.

William grew up on Natches Ave. on Chicago’s North Side, where he attended Locke Elementary School. He was a graduate of East Leyden High School, class of 1945. After high school he joined the Navy. He held many jobs including working for a steel company and a mailman in Franklin Park. He retired from Peplines Trucking Company after many years of service.

Visitation: Tuesday, April 10, 4:00-8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL 60544. (Corners of Rt. 30 & Rt. 59).

Funeral Service: Wednesday, April 11, 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment to follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.
