Obituary for Paul Edward Lydston Jr.

Paul E. Lyston Jr., age 43, of Aurora, IL passed away suddenly on June 13, 2018 in Aurora. He was born October 24, 1974 in Dorchester, MA.

Paul is survived by his wife of 5 years, Kate Lydston; daughter Fiona Lydston; step-children Julia, Iain, and Alison Baker; and mother Kathy Ames.

He is preceded in death by his father Paul E. Lydston Sr.

Paul served our country as a Sergeant and Russian linguist in the US Army. He was a proud member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

He will be remembered as being a voracious reader, especially philosophy texts, an enthusiast of music, and a fan of rugby since playing the sport while stationed in Germany. Always the intellectual, Paul would enjoy a spirited debate on foreign and domestic policy.

Most of all, he deeply loved and cherished his wife and children. A friend to all he met, Paul touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

Family and friends to gather Friday, June 22 9:30 AM until time of Memorial Service 10:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church 300 E. Gartner Rd. Naperville, IL 60540.

Inurnment will take place at a future date.

For those wishing to leave a lasting impression on Paul's life, donations to the Go Fund Me link would be appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
