Obituary for Kevin Donald Feeley

A celebration of the life of Kevin Donald Feeley will be held on March 12th 10:00 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Romeoville, IL. The world got a little dimmer on Friday, March 2, 2018, when our dear Kevin was suddenly taken from us. Even though he left this life far too soon, we want to celebrate what a tremendous impression he made on the lives of all who knew him. Kevin was larger than life and once he met you, he considered you his friend. He had the uncanny ability to instantly connect with everyone he met through humor, wit and charm. He may not have had several degrees after his name, but he could captivate any audience with his winsome personality. Yes, he could make people laugh, and he did often, but it was his empathy and compassion for others that really stood out. He would lend a helping hand to anyone and could sense someone’s need before it was spoken; a true gift. Kevin also had a gift of music; he taught himself how to play both the guitar and the piano and he had a beautiful voice that could give tone to all varieties of music. At family gatherings, he along with his many cousins would entertain his parents, aunts and uncles with sometimes grand and well-thought out performances. Kevin loved nature, photography, animals and people. He loved to post pictures of his beloved cat Kitty and his dear friend’s dog Chico and many beautiful pictures of his Chicago neighborhood. Kevin was noted for his people skills as a waiter and bartender at numerous restaurants in Chicagoland and in Wisconsin. He was a loyal and much-loved employee of Longhorn Steakhouse on the South Side of Chicago.

Kevin was born on September 2, 1961 in Hinsdale, IL to his loving parents, Donald and Phyllis Feeley of Plainfield. He is the beloved brother of, Joy (Kris Kelley) of Mattoon, Il, Jennifer (Mike Thomas) of Hot Springs Ark, Timothy (Elizabeth “Betsy”) Feeley of Naperville and Brian (Tiffani) Feeley of Hillsboro Missouri.

He was an adored uncle of Kirsten (Matt Primozic), Colin Kelley, Jessica (Mike Schreurs), Aaron Feeley, Shannon Feeley, Kaitlyn Feeley, Jack Feeley, Jacob Thomas, and Braedon Feeley. Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frances and Margaret Feeley and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Ethel Clear.

Kevin was an advocate for the Chicago Police Department and would often attend rallies in support of them. In order to continue this legacy, we ask that In lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the Chicago Police Memorial foundation in honor of our fallen officers.
