Obituary for John Lee Benson

John Lee Benson, age 73, passed on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his home after a long struggle with heart disease.

John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandy, his son, Garth, daughter-in-law, Sereen and his beloved granddaughter, Hadley. He is also survived by his sister, Vivian and brother-in-law, Bill Kanzmeier. He will be missed by his Springer Spaniel, Ivy.

John was born February 20, 1945 in Fort Dodge, IA and moved to Naperville in 1973. He proudly served in U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of St. Raphael Catholic Church for over 40 years.

John was a retired self-employed accountant whose many clients became life-long friends. John enjoyed playing golf, poker, hunting with his son and traveling with his family.

John loved life and lived it to the fullest. His generosity and compassion will be greatly missed.

Visitation Thursday, March 1, 2018, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home &
Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 2, 11:00 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Rd., Naperville.

Interment: Private.
