Obituary for Joan S. Bulava

Joan S. Bulava (nee Schmidt), 89, a resident of Naperville, IL since 2006, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully at her granddaughter's home in Naperville on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born June 13, 1928 in Chicago.

Beloved wife of the late LeRoy G. Bulava, loving mother of the late Gary Bulava and the late Karen (Ray) Kirkpatrick, adored grandmother of Kimberly and David Bulava; Raymond Kirkpatrick and Coleen (Ron) Hay, cherished great-grandmother of Matthew, Kyle, Ryan, Brendan, Sean, Collin and Christian Hay, devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Schmidt, dear sister of the late Jacqueline Schmidt and friend of many.

Joan grew up on Chicago's North Side. A loving homemaker, she also worked as a bookkeeper for several area companies. Joan was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Naperville and was a volunteer at Edward Hospital in Naperville.

Services were private.

Future inurnment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Columbarium in Naperville.
