Gary P. Alberini
(October 22, 1943, 1923 to August 27, 2010)

Gary P. Alberini, a resident of Plainfield since 1975. Born October 22, 1943, he passed away peacefully on August 27, 2010 at his home with his family at his side. Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Virginia "Ginny", nee Winans; his children, Nicholas (Christina) Alberini of Plainfield and Amanda Alberini of Shorewood; his grandchildren, Tyler and Carter Alberini; his sisters, Gail Alberini and Elisabet Alberini; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of good friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Alberini; and his parents, Hugo and Vieno Alberini. Gary graduated from Fenger High School, Chicago and then honorably served his country as a member of the US Army. He was a dedicated employee of Metropolitan Industries, Romeoville and retired in August of 2010 after 36 years. He enjoyed fishing and his many fishing trips with his friends. He loved a round of golf and the occasional card game with his buddies or taking the love of his life to the movies. The cruise he took to Alaska with friends was truly memorable. He was also a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Above all else, Gary lived for his family and was extremely proud of their many accomplishments. He loved spending time with his grandsons and cheering them on at their many sporting events. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 3:00 until 8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 11:00 AM at the Plainfield United Methodist Church, 15114 S. Illinois St, Plainfield, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be private.

Dr. Joe Denton Bentz
(August 5, 1922 to August 17, 2010)

Dr. Joe Denton Bentz, age 88, of Naperville, IL, passed away peacefully in Madison, Wis., on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 in his son's arms, after a glorious day at the zoo with his grandchildren. Born August 5, 1922 in Spring Grove, Pa. to loving parents; the late Lloyd and Anna Bentz, Cherished husband of the late Ida Mae "Peggy" Bentz, nee Troxell, Beloved father of Jay Bentz (Kathy) and Michael Bentz (Kim), and Grandfather "Popper" of Gretchen, Alex and Eric Bentz. He was preceded in death by brothers Claire, Russell, and Wilson, as well as sisters Arlene, Mildred and Charmaine, and is survived by brother Lloyd. Dr. Bentz, former Medical Director at Nalco Chemical Company, was an Occupational Medicine physician. He served as Captain in the Army Medical Corp immediately following World War II after completion of Medical School at Temple University. He was a devoted family man who loved music, and was significantly involved as a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Naperville. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation: Saturday, August 21st, 2010 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Lois D. Bez
(April 21, 1930 to August 27, 2010)

Lois D. Bez, nee Luedtke, 80, a resident of Naperville since 1967. Born April 21, 1930, Lois passed away peacefully on August 27, 2010. Lois is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 56 years, Richard "Dick" Bez; her loving children, Duane (Kathlyn) Bez, Donna (James) Lemar, David and Tim Bez; her wonderful grandchildren, Nathan Bez, Audra (Edward) Granberry, Vicki (Elmo) Ponsdomenech, Michelle (Casey) Weaver and Paula Lemar; her cherished great-granddaughter, Alexis Weaver; and her dear brother, James (Joan) Luedtke. Lois enjoyed reading to the kindergarten students at Bebe School. She volunteered at SS Peter & Paul School and Church and also sang in the church choir. Lois also loved playing bingo with her friends. For those who prefer, memorials to SS Peter & Paul School, Office of Development, 201 E. Franklin, Naperville, IL 60540 would be greatly appreciated. Dolly Birholtz
(June 10, 1930 to August 30, 2010)

Dolly Birholtz (nee Hood), Age 80, a resident of Oswego, IL, formerly of Elmhurst, IL, passed away suddenly from natural causes on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Rush-Copley Medical Center, Aurora, IL. She was born June 10, 1930 in Ridgely, TN. Beloved mother of Michael (Charlene) Autry, Larry (Sharon) Autry, Stephen (Michelle) Autry, and Antoinette (Matt) Hyde, adored grandmother of Michael (Jeannie), Victoria (Craig), Jill, Jenny, Chrissy, Katie, Joshua, Josie and DJ, cherished great-grandmother of Alexandra and Mackenzie, devoted daughter of the late Silas and Georgia Hood, dear sister of Earlene (Harold) Brooks, Welton (the late Carneice) Hood, Bill (Mary) Hood, and the late Ozell (Theresa) Hood and the late Clifford (Imogene) Hood, fond aunt of many. Dolly grew up in Tennessee and moved to Chicago in 1947. She worked as a hair stylist for over fifty years. Ruth Yvonne Castleman

Ruth Yvonne Castleman, 71, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 1979. Born October 6, 1938, she passed away peacefully on August 19, 2010 at Rush-Copley Medical Center, Aurora. Ruth is survived by her loving children, Denise (Terry) Clark of Iuka, Miss., Darrell (Marcie) Castleman of Plainfield and Diane (Dan) Clark of Minooka; her dear son-in-law, Phil Simpson; her cherished grandchildren, Steve Simpson, Tom (Jana) Lewis, Amanda Lewis, Chris (Amanda) Lewis, Monica (fiancé Dan Buegel) Castleman, Joe (Stephanie) Castleman, Nick Castleman, Valerie Clark, Kyle Clark, Adam Sproul and Aaron (Terry) Sproul; her wonderful great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tristan, Troy and Gage Sproul, Jada Clark, Sierra Simpson, Taylor and William Lewis, Hannah Meeks, Sara Rast and Brody Castleman; her dear sister, Carol (the late Jerry) Lucas; her sister-in-law, Karen (Phil) Eckert; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. Ruth enjoyed her job at Air-Rite Heating & Cooling for the last 20 year. She loved her church and volunteered for countless functions. Wayne R. Ermey, age 59 of Plainfield, IL at rest Friday, August 13, 2010 at his home with his family at his side. Born August 5, 1951 in Joliet, IL the son of Richard and the late Betty Ermey of Plainfield, IL, Loving husband of Karen, dear father of Ryan (Lindsay) Ermey of Joliet, IL, Bradley Ermey of Plainfield, IL and Merissa Ermey of Plainfield, IL. Grandfather of Riley and Lucus Ermey. Brother of Susan (the late Harold) Wilson of Fulton, IL, Janet (Robert, Jr.) Zitzke of Plainfield, IL and Beverly (Alan) Antonides of Plainfield, IL. Graduate of Plainfield High School, class of 1970, retired from Exxon Mobil after 36 years in the maintenance/planning department. Was an avid bowler, coached baseball for 10 years and was an EMT for 13 years. Carolyn E. Judy
(October 19, 1922 to August 17, 2010)

Carolyn E. Judy, age 87, a sixty year resident of Plainfield, IL, at rest Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from complications associated with Parkinsons' Disease. She was diagnosed with the disease in her mid-fifties and faced her challenges with dignity and grace. She was born October 19, 1922 in Clinton, IL the daughter of the late Glen and Nova Rees. Carolyn was an outstanding seamstress who taught sewing and tailoring classes at Sears. She was a "professional shopper" who always knew where to get the best deals. In addition, she loved playing cars, dancing, traveling and cooking for family and friends. She and her husband enjoyed over twenty years of retirement spending their winters in Florida. Survivors include her loving children, Rodger (Jane) Judy of Joliet, IL, Steve (Carol) Judy of Morris and Cheryl (Bill) Pommerening of Plainfield, IL. She was blessed with grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Hattemar, Stacy Judy, Michael Judy, Brent (Magen) Pommerening, Allison (fiance' Rob) Pommerening, Donald Prindle and Doug Prindle, who adoringly called her Mega. Her life was further enriched by great-grandchildren Jack and Regan Hattemar, Katelyn Prindle and Drake Pommerening. Numerous nieces and nephews survive. Preceding Carolyn was her devoted husband of sixty-three years. Bob. Also, preceding her in death were siblings Lucille, David, Thelma and Velma. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Lakewood Nursing Care Center in Plainfield for their loving and compassionate care. Her special angels Roberta, Kiya, Lupe, Alda, Melissa, Kelly, Christina, and Shannon will never be forgotten. We also hold a special place in our hearts for Annie and Deb from Harbor Lights Hospice who have taken such wonderful care of our Mother the past two years and helped comfort her in her final days. Robert S. Kinser

Robert S. Kinser, age 86 of Naperville, IL at rest Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. Born May 20, 1924 in Iowa. He was the beloved husband of the late Maryrose. Loving father of Kathleen Johnson of Naperville, IL, Kyle (Jeri) Kinser of Makanda, IL, Mary (William) Muth of Downers Grove, IL and Thomas (Donna) Kinser of Willowbrook, IL. Cherished grandfather of Abel (Allison) and Andrew Kinser, Brendan and Erin Johnson, Melissa, William, Jr, and Mackenzie Muth. Dear great-grandfather of Margaret Rose, Audrey Kinser and Owen Robert Johnson. Dear brother of nine siblings. Robert served in the US Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict, he was the first building superintendent of the John Hancock Building and was a very active member of SS. Dorothy Josephine Popp

Dorothy Josephine Popp (nee Debelak), age 80 of Naperville, formerly of Summit, IL, most loved mother and wife was called home to be with her Lord, parents and brothers on August 24, 2010 after a long illness. Born December 11, 1929 in Summit, IL. She peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Alex, wedded for 57 years; daughters: Kathy (Jim) Abraham, Nancy (Bruce) Fairbanks, and Karen Popp; Sons: Tom (Deb) Popp and Jeff Popp. Grandmother of six. Sister of John Debelak. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Matthew; her brothers: Joe, Hank, Tony, and Matt. Henry C. Puetz

Henry C. "Hank" Puetz, Age 80, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1968, formerly of Chicago and Oak Lawn, IL, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was born September 8, 1929 in Chicago. Loving husband of Florence M. (nee Knight) Puetz, whom he married February 9, 1952, beloved father of Susan (Mike) Bright of Sandwich, IL, Barbara (Rob) Phillips of Arizona, Bob (Marci) Puetz of San Diego, CA and Ron (Jonelle) Puetz of Plainfield, IL, adored grandfather of Colleen, Katie, Kayla, Kari, Nick, Kenny, Danielle, Thomas and Riley, cherished great-grandfather of Mason, devoted son of the late Henry and Ruth Puetz, dear brother of Phyllis (the late Carmen) Bastone of St. Charles, IL and the late Carol Ann, fond uncle of many. Henry grew up in Chicago, attended St. Theodore and St. Raphael Grammar Schools and was a graduate of Lindblom High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War and later owned and operated Henry Puetz & Sons Wholesale Meats in Chicago for many years, a family business started by his grandfather. A lifelong Roman Catholic, Henry was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved horses, being outdoors, landscaping and spending time at his family's Sunset Farm in Bolingbrook Family and friends will meet Saturday, September 18th to celebrate a 10:30 A.M. Helen Josephine Radford

Helen J. Radford (nee Lee), age 81, of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Greenwood, IN and Garden City, MI, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born November 10, 1928 in Waynesboro, TN. Beloved wife of Bill Radford, whom she married May 29, 1948, loving mother of Linda (Jim) Doyle, Rev. William (Tracy) Radford and John Douglas Radford, adored grandmother of James (Lauri) Doyle, Katherine Doyle and Andrew (Kelly) Doyle; John, David, Daniel, Jessica, Joseph and Samuel Radford, cherished great-grandmother of Morgan Doyle, devoted daughter of the late Neil and Annabelle Lee, dear sister of Frances (Ellis) Butler, Charles (Shirley) Lee, Virginia Moffatt, David (Beverly) Lee and the late Joel Lee, fond aunt of many. Helen moved to Detroit, MI as a teenager, was a graduate of Southwestern High School and attended Schoolcraft Community College, Livonia, MI. She was employed for 37 years as the business manager of Quinco Tool Co. in Southfield, MI. Roy A. Schrader, Sr.
(March 3, 1918 to September 3, 2010)

Roy A. Schrader, Sr., Age 92, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 1962, died Friday, September 3, 2010 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL. He was born March 3, 1918 in Lemont, IL. Loving husband of the late Marilyn "Jeannie" (nee Ovitt) Schrader, whom he married September 20, 1947, beloved father of Debbie Schrader of Plainfield, Rosie (the late Eddie Dean) Schrader of Naperville, IL, Roy (Mary) Schrader, Jr. of Minooka, IL, Linda Schrader of Plainfield and the late Ralph Schrader, adored grandfather of Krystal Dean; Kristin, Brandon, Matthew and Jason Schrader, devoted son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Schrader, dear brother of Mabel (Harry) Maas of Elgin, IL, Charles (Dolores) Schrader of Plainfield, the late Gilbert (the late Caroline) Schrader, the late Clarence (the late Betty) Schrader, the late Alice (the late Ed) Dunn and the late Eldon (the late Eleanor) Schrader, fond brother-in-law of Mary Frances (the late Clarence) McKeever of Longwood, FL and Margaret (the late Frank) Schaefer of Aurora, IL and the late Corrine Schrader, fond uncle of many. Roy grew up on his family's farm in Lemont and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Roy farmed for many years in the Plainfield area, was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Naperville and loved the Chicago Cubs. Visitation Tuesday, September 7, 9:30-11:30 A.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield. Closing prayers and final viewing will begin Tuesday, 11:30 A.M. from the funeral home and will proceed to Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Naperville, IL for graveside services. Karen Tate
(July 24, 1952 to August 31, 2010)

Karen Tate, 58, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL who was born July 24, 1952 in Chicago passed away on August 31, 2010 in Beloit, WI. She is survived by her sons, Denver (Kelly) DeGregorio of Cincinnati Ohio, Jermiah Murchison of Phoenix, AZ, and John Alexander Hoffer of Crest Hill, IL; her granddaughter, Audrianna DeGregorio; her siblings, Christine Behling of Beloit, WI, Dawn (Daniel) Georgakas-Newrall of Plainfield, IL and Stephen (Karen) Georgakas of Ellsworth, WI; as well as numerous nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and Alexander Georgakas. Karen was an avid gardener, and loved being outdoors. She loved music, especially The Beatles and her son Alex's music. She attended Plainfield schools from grade school through high school. Visitation will be Friday, September 10, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home, Plainfield. A Celebration of Karen's life will begin at 7:00 PM in the funeral home with Chaplain Nancy Toubl officiating. All are invited to share their memories of Karen during the service. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions to Karen's family to be used according to her wishes would be greatly appreciated.

Calista A. Wehrli
(June 25, 1925 to September 6, 2010)

Calista A. Wehrli, age 85 of Naperville, IL, formerly of Upland, CA, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 6, 2010 at St. Patrick's Residence of Naperville. Born June 25, 1925 in Aurora, IL. Calista is survived by 9 brothers and sisters: Andrew (Audra) Wehrli, Donald (Jean) Wehrli, John "Harp" Wehrli, Richard (Judy) Wehrli, Marge Walsh, Jean Kuhn, Joyce Wehrli, Carol ( Jerry) Doll and Ann (Bob) Jansen. Aunt of 62 nieces and nephews and 135 great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gertrude Wehrli; brothers, Robert, James and Joseph Wehrli, God son and nephew, Timothy Wehrli and nephew, Joseph Pekarek. Calista was a lifelong member of SS. Peter & Paul Church and a graduate of SS. Peter & Paul School, class of 1939. Graduate of Naperville High School, class of 1943. Received her B.A. in education from Iowa State Teacher College in Cedar Falls, Iowa, class of 1950 and graduated from UCLA, class of 1954 with a M.S. in Physical Education . Calisita was a US Marine veteran, proudly serving in WWII. She was a longtime California resident from 1953-2001. Retired from Ontario High School as Chairman of the Physical Education Department after 18 years of service. Ontario High School swimming pools are dedicated and named after Calista Wehrli. She helped design and build the athletic facilities at Ontario High School. She also taught at Pasadena College, San Francisco State University and University of California, Berkley. Calista received a Distinguished Alumni Recognition award in 2004 from Naperville Central High School. Marie S. Wianecki
(February 11, 1925 to August 13, 2010)

Marie S. Wianecki (nee Baron), age 85, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Burlington, WI, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 of natural causes. Marie was born in Chicago, IL on February 11, 1925 to William and Lillian (nee Mueller) Baron and spent her early life there, attending Chicago area schools. She married Tedd Wianecki in Chicago on June 12, 1948. They moved to Burlington, WI in 1951 where they settled and raised their family. Marie moved to Naperville, IL in 1996 where she resided until the time of her death. Marie was employed at Illinois Bell Telephone Company while living in Chicago, and in Burlington, WI, she worked at Vos Dairy Bar, Montgomery Wards, Ben Franklin, Tobin Drugs, NEL Frequency Controls, and Trendsetters Salon. While in Burlington, Marie was involved in community groups, such as the Cedar Park Ladies Auxiliary, of which she held the position of president. She was also the treasurer of the Burlington Sno-Snoopers Snowmobile Club. She enjoyed her family and friends, dancing, big band music, pontoon boating on Brown's Lake, and card club. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Sheehan of Phoenix, AZ; Kristine (David) Stockwell of Bolingbrook, IL; grandchildren Jennifer Dion of Wisconsin and Joshua (Krys) Feucht of San Diego, CA; great-grandchildren Jordan, Evan, and Bria Leigh; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Tedd in 1980, her parents, her sister Lorraine, and son-in-law Eddie Sheehan. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a humane society or animal shelter of your choice in honor of Marie and her love for animals.

David G. Wiley

David G. Wiley, Age 63, a resident of Wheaton, IL, formerly of Decatur and Aurora, IL, died Monday, August 23, 2010 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. He was born June 15, 1947 in Decatur. Loving husband of Dessie (nee Parton) Wiley, whom he married May 18, 1969, beloved father of Scott D. W. Wiley and Brandon M. (Sara) Wiley, adored grandfather of Bailey and Deven Wiley, devoted son of the late Frank R. and Carolyn Elizabeth "Betty" (nee McCann) Wiley, dear brother of John and Mark Wiley. David grew up in Decatur, was a 1965 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School and attended Millikin University. He was an accomplished photographer at an early age and owned and operated Wiley Photography in Decatur. Throughout his long work career, David was employed as a meeting planner, retail manager and in customer service. He also was employed by the U.S. Jaycees in Tulsa, OK as a governmental affairs representative, representing the Jaycees in Washington D.C. David was awarded a J.C.I. Senatorship #29007 due to his contributions to the Jaycees. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur and also several civic/fraternal organizations: the Shriners and Masons. David's passion was scouting, first in the YMCA Indian Guides program and later for the Boy Scouts of America as a Cub Master and Scout Master.
