Bernice M. Linchester

Bernice M. Linchester, 89, a longtime resident of Lisle, IL, passed away peacefully into the everlasting love of God on Holy Thursday, April 5, 2012. She was born February 13, 1923 in Cicero, IL.
Bernice is survived by her loving brother, Edward L. (the late Juanita) Linchester; her cherished nephew and niece, Edward A. (Christine) Linchester; her grand nieces and nephews, Edward N. (Meg) Linchester, Frank J. (Kristi) Linchester and Paul W. (Kristin) Scalpelli and her two great nieces and three great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Agnes Linchester; her brothers, George “Georgie” and John “Jack” Linchester and her cherished niece, Cheryl Scalpelli.
Bernice retired as a Budget Assistant for the Atomic Energy Division at Argonne National Laboratory after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Lisle Heritage Society and was named a “Woman of Lisle” during the 1980’s. Bernice was a true conservationist and a lover of all God’s animals. She loved to garden and enjoyed sharing her talents in the many community plots near the Lisle train station and the Netzley Home. A devout Catholic, Bernice was a longtime active parishioner at St Joan of Arc Church and also played the church organ. She will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched.
For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Bernice’s life, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, 10:00 AM at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Lisle. Interment will follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
