Eileen Cleary (nee Connolly), age 90, formerly of Chicago and Elmhurst, IL and Long Beach, IN, died Saturday, February 25, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville, IL. She was born June 30, 1926 in Chicago, IL.
Beloved wife of the late Martin J. Cleary, whom she married June 20, 1953 and who preceded her in death on April 21, 2016, loving mother of James (Charlene) Cleary of Naperville, John Cleary of Evergreen Park, IL, Thomas (Margaret) Cleary of Naperville, Christopher (Joanna) Cleary of Addison, IL, Anne (Bryan) Przepiora of Chicago, IL, Patrick (Crystal) Cleary of LaPorte, IN, Brian (Joy) Cleary of Naperville and the late Michael Cleary, adored grandmother of James, Jr. (Adrienne) Cleary and Ryann (Mark) Selander; Therese and Sean Cleary; Angela, Daniel and Peter Cleary; Frank and John Miulli; Bryan and Ellen Przepiora; Tori Reis, Joey and Jordyn Cleary, great-grandmother of Keegan, Emma and Sean Cleary, devoted daughter of the late James and Anne (nee McDonough) Connolly, dear sister of the late Patrick, Mary, Agnes, Sally, Margaret, James and John, sister-in-law of Robert (Beatrice) Cleary, Kathleen (the late Robert) Kelly and Anthony (the late Eileen) Cleary, fond aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.
Eileen grew up in Stone Lake, WI and Chicago and was a graduate of Calumet High School. A loving and devoted homemaker, Eileen also worked at St. Philip Neri Church in Chicago and Gibson Electric in Westchester, IL.
Eileen was a former member of Visitation Catholic Church in Elmhurst, IL and Notre Dame Catholic Church in Long Beach, IN. She enjoyed twenty years of wintering with her husband, Marty, at their home in Destin, FL. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, discussing politics and cooking for her large extended family.
Visitation Wednesday, March 1, 2017, 4:00-9:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
Additional Visitation Thursday, March 2, 9:00-10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Thursday, 10:00 A.M at St. Patrick's Residence.
