Richard D. “Rick” Bernard, age 57, a lifelong resident of Warrenville, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012. He was born April 23, 1955 in Berwyn, IL.

Beloved son of Lucy (nee Colagrossi) and the late Frank D. Bernard, loving brother of Gary (Lorraine) Bernard of Winfield, IL, Frank D. (Shari-Lyn) Bernard of Oswego, IL and John Bernard of Warrenville, IL, fond uncle of Nicholas, Andria and Evan Bernard; Matthew, Mary, Rachel, Maria-Lucia, Michael and Margaret-Mary Bernard.

Rick grew up in Warrenville, attended St. Irene’s Grade School, St. Francis High School in Wheaton and attended the College of DuPage in Lombard. Throughout the years, Rick worked for Caterpillar Corp., Aurora, IL and T.G.I. Fridays, Naperville, IL. Rick was an antique motorcycle collector and enthusiast. He was a drummer, snow and water skier and held a black belt in taekwondo. Rick was a member of St. Irene Catholic Church, Warrenville and Warrenville VFW Post #8081 Men’s Auxiliary.

Visitation Sunday, November 11, 2:00-6:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Additional Visitation Monday, November 12, 10:00-11:00 A.M. at St. Irene Catholic Church, 28W531 Warrenville Rd., Warrenville, IL 60555, (630)393-2400.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Monday, 11:00 A.M. at St. Irene Catholic Church, 28W531 Warrenville Rd., Warrenville.
