Callie Ann Keppner (nee Morris) age 52, lifelong resident of Warrenville, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 17, 2017 at Central DuPage Hospital of Winfield, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Geneva, IL September 1, 1964. Callie is survived by her husband, Douglas R. Keppner, Jr., her two children, Anna and Edward Gillespie and step-daughter Sarah Keppner. She is also survived by her mother Judy (Jerry) Sharp and her brother Dale (Tammy) Morris. She was the daughter-in-law of Douglas Sr. and Mary Keppner, and sister-in-law of Julie (Chris) Mang. Callie leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, as well as a host of many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Dale Morris. Callie was a proud 1982 graduate of Wheaton-Warrenville South High School. She was previously employed by the McDonald's Corporation and then went on to spend many wonderful years working at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as a customer service representative and trainer. Callie enjoyed many hobbies: knitting, reading, Harry Potter, mysteries, fantasy, science-fiction, gardening, movies, music, television, collecting fairies, dragonflies, butterflies, and a huge passion for anything purple. To Callie there was no greater joy than spending time with her family. Her greatest delight was in raising her children Anna and Eddie. She was a much loved wife, daughter, sister, niece, step-mom and friend. Callie and Doug's first date was on Valentine's Day of 2004 and it was the start of many cherished years together. Doug and Callie later married on May 5, 2011. Callie loved all animals, but she held a special place in her heart for her cat Widget, who was her constant companion throughout her eight year battle with cancer. Cancer may have won physically, but never extinguished her beautiful spirit and fire for life. We will all remember her courage and hold her in our hearts forever. A special thank you to Dr. Dennis Citrin and the oncology team at the Cancer Treatment Center of America.
