Edgar Jackson, age 94, a resident of Montgomery, IL, a former 45 year resident of Naperville, IL, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at The Bickford of Oswego. He was born May 20, 1918 in Old Hickory, TN

Loving husband of Ruth (nee Bannister) Jackson, whom he married December 30, 1944, loving father of Patricia (Dennis) Quinn-Buchta of St. Helen, MI and Frank (Patricia) Jackson of Montgomery, IL, adored grandfather of Daniel (Kathleen) Quinn and Laura (Danny) Stevens, cherished great-grandfather of Samantha Stevens; Liam and Cameron Quinn, devoted son of the late Perry and Edna Jackson, dear brother of Grace Jackson of Gainesboro, TN and the late Perry, Charles, Russell and Clyde, brother-in-law of James D. (Christine) Bannister of Plainfield, IL and the late Elaine Ferry and George F. Bannister, fond uncle of many.

Edgar served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European theater during World War II and later served in the Air Force Reserves, retiring in May 1978 as a lieutenant colonel. Edgar also worked as an accountant at United Airlines for many years. He was a former member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville and a current member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. Edgar also was a member of The Retired Officer’s Association (TROA) and a Civil Defense volunteer. He enjoyed ham radio

Visitation Tuesday, December 18, 3:00-8:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Funeral Services Wednesday, December 19, 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. David Hankus officiating.

Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
