Joseph John Frieders

June 25, 1936 - August 29, 2017

Joseph John Frieders, age 81, of Yorkville, IL passed away peacefully on August 29, 2017 at the Bickford of Oswego Assisted Living facility.  He was born on June 15, 1936 in Naperville, IL.  Joseph was the loving husband of Patricia (Midlock) Frieders for 50 years until her death in 2017.  Joe worked the family farm until enlisting in the Army at the age of 21.  After 2 years of military service, he began his career in trucking as a driver and soon became an owner-operator.  He married Patricia in 1966 and they established Frieders Trucking Inc. on West Lockport Street in Plainfield, IL which they operated until retirement.  He enjoyed his later years traveling with his wife, spending time with his grandkids, and finding lost treasures in storage units.  Survivors include his children Andrew (Darcia Van Deusen) Frieders, Daniel (Gabrielle Garrett) Frieders and Julie (James) Lockhart; his grandchildren Kathryn Lockhart, Timothy Lockhart, Alexander Frieders, and Elleanor Frieders; his sisters Rita Kiefer and Loretta Spalding; his brothers Ernest (Mary) Frieders and Albert (Norma) Frieders; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; parents Peter and Elizabeth Frieders; and sisters Jeanette Pattermann, Elizabeth Baumann, Pauline Wackerlin and Marian Bertrang. 


Funeral Information

Visitation will be Monday, September 4th 1:00 until 5:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield, IL  60544. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 5th, 10:30 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield.
