Kenneth Royal Bachelder, Jr., age 56, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1985, formerly of Wheaton, IL, died suddenly Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his home. He was born December 25, 1955 in Chicago, IL. Ken is survived by his wife, Linda (nee Stammet) Bachelder, whom he married June 13, 2008, sons, Matthew Bachelder, Justin Vaggert and Tyler Bachelder, stepsons, Dave (Alexis) Dunaway and Jeff (Kimberley) Dunaway, grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jr. and Lilah, siblings, Carol (Tayser Abu Saleh) Bachelder, Cole (Wendy Holmquist) Bachelder, Kristin (Tom) Bartosic, Charles (Kathy) Bachelder and Christopher Bachelder, nieces and nephews, Gina, Eric, Shannon, Alicia, Michael (Jennifer), Lee, Tina, Christopher Jr., Erin, Jordan and Kelsey, great-nieces and great-nephews, Charline Mae, Anais, Lilly, Keenan, Nick, Brady, Marco and Santiago, a step-sister, Sandy Waters and cousins Sharon, Susan and Bruce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth R., Sr. and Charline Mae Bachelder (nee Vurpillatt) and a step-sister, Sharon Humbert. Ken grew up in Wheaton and attended Wheaton Central High School. He owned and operated K.R. Bachelder & Company Violins in Naperville, a business started by his father which specialized in repairing and restoring stringed instruments. Ken loved jazz music and played the bass and drums. He also enjoyed working in his yard and doing home renovations. Visitation Wednesday, August 1, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held Thursday, August 2, 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment: Naperville Cemetery, Naperville. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to: American Lung Association. |
