Alayne P. Broussard (nee O’Connor), age 65, a longtime resident of Bolingbrook, IL, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood, IL after a long illness. She was born March 21, 1947 in Chicago, IL. Loving wife of the late John J. Broussard, whom she married July 24, 1965 and who preceded her in death April 20, 2008, beloved mother of Jim (Cary) Broussard, Jack (Tammy) Broussard, Dan Broussard and the late Margaret Jane Broussard, adored grandmother of John and Ashley Broussard, devoted daughter of the late John J. and Jane (nee Burns) O’Connor, dear sister of Joan (Joseph) O’Connor and Mary (Robert Schillerstrom) O’Connor, dear aunt of Joshua (Shayna) Wright, Joe and Maureen O’Connor, Connor (fiancée, Kelsie Bancroft), Curt and Katie Schillerstrom, sister-in-law of Tom Broussard, loving friend of Wrigley, her English Bulldog. Alayne grew up on Chicago’s West Side, attended Resurrection Grade School and was a graduate of Siena High School. She held a bachelor degree in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master’s degree in nursing from Loyola University in Chicago. Alayne was employed as a nurse with Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL for 27 years, working primarily in the Heart Transplant Unit. She also served on the Illinois State Nursing Board and enjoyed traveling and reading. Visitation Saturday, November 10, 9:00-11:00 A.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Funeral Services will follow Saturday, 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: American Cancer Society. |
