Dorothy M. White (nee Attwood), age 91, a resident of Wheaton, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville. She was born May 8, 1921 in Chicago.

Beloved wife of the late John R. “Jack” White, loving mother of Patricia (J. Calvin) Neuhauser of Sullivan, IL, Margaret Robinson of Wheaton, Jack (Sandy) White of St. Charles, IL, Thomas (Cindy) White of Wheaton, Kathleen (David) Olson of Wheaton and the late Jean Volmer, adored grandmother of Christine (Steve) Davidson, John (Barbara) Neuhauser, Daniel (Michelle) Neuhauser, Amy (Bob) Hogan, Ryan (Kristen) Jordan, Eden Volmer, Patrick (Chelsea) White, Colleen, Jeff and Julie White, Lauren (Ryan) Self, Noel (Chad) Williams and Danielle Olson, cherished great-grandmother of Paige and Emily Neuhauser, Michael and Ryan Davidson, Kaylee and Dayton Volmer, twins: Allison and Rachel Hogan and Madison White and Tyler Jordan, devoted daughter of the late William and Catherine Attwood, dear sister of the late James and William Attwood, fond aunt of many, mother-in-law of the late Roger Jordan and Howard Robinson.

Dorothy was born in 1921 and raised on the West Side of Chicago in St. Mel Parrish. Her parents were Catherine and William Attwood. Dorothy had two brothers, James and William. She attended St Mel Grammar School and Church and graduated from Providence High School. She was very proud to be voted class athlete. Dorothy married Jack White, the love of her life, on Dec. 30, 1944, at St Mel Church. They moved to Wheaton, IL with their six children in 1957. They built a new home on Erie St. Dorothy loved being a homemaker, but did work as a long distance operator for Illinois Bell and was a switch board operator for Container Corp., when the children were all in school. She was a loving mother and wonderful grandmother. She resided at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville since November 1999. She came to rest peacefully on Jan. 1, 2013, joining her beloved husband Jack and daughter Jean in Heaven. God bless you and keep you in his loving arms until we meet again Mom.

Visitation Saturday, January 5, 9:00-10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Saturday, 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Residence.

Interment: St. Michael Cemetery, Wheaton, IL.
