Wilma "Jean" Russell

Wilma "Jean" Russell (nee Hudson), age 88, a Naperville, IL resident since 1959, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility, Naperville. She was born June 23, 1928 in Canton, IL.
Beloved wife of the late Carl Dean Russell, whom she married June 22, 1947 and who preceded her in death September 3, 2006, devoted mother of Lynn (Dave) Weeks of Naperville and Todd Russell of Brandon, FL, loving grandmother of Christopher (Mandy) Rivenburg of Sugar Grove, Courtney Rivenburg of Naperville, Chad Rivenburg of Rockford, and Andrew (Vicki) Russell of Bethesda, Ohio, blessed great-grandmother of Noah, Caleb, Mackenzie, Kaytlyn, Cameron, Carson and Colton, daughter of the late Bernard and Opal (nee Lingenfelter)Hudson, fond aunt and friend to many.
Jean was an administrative assistant at Checkmaster, also known as Litton Industries. She later worked for the U. S. Postal Service at the Naperville office. She became a realtor, practicing in Illinois and Florida. Jean and her husband Carl were charter members of Knox Presbyterian church where she served as church secretary in the early days of the church. She enjoyed playing golf at Cress Creek Country Club, loved bridge, and supporting her children’s activities. Jean enjoyed a special trip to Hawaii when her granddaughter Courtney graduated from Hawaii Pacific University in 2001. In 1983 Jean and Carl retired to Sun City Center Florida. Carl passed away in 2006 and Jean returned to Naperville in 2012 to be near her daughter’s family. One of her favorite activities in her final years was driving through the Morton Arboretum in the spring to see the daffodils.
At her request services will be private. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell FL.
