Roger Peter Iversen, 85, of Lisle/Naperville, IL area, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Naperville, IL. Roger was born in Green Bay, WI on September 2, 1926 to Leonard and Bertha Iversen. Roger was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Maritime Service from 1944-46, crossing the Atlantic several times to Europe and also to South America. Roger married Audrey Conard in 1951 and graduated from Marquette University in the following year. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He enjoyed a long career in management in the airline industry spending most of that time with North Central/Republic Airlines. In "retirement" he and Audrey founded and successfully operated ARA Consultants. Roger had served for the last six years as the Treasurer of the September Club at St. Margaret Mary Church, Naperville. Roger is survived by his wife, Audrey, children Christine (Larry) Nothwehr, Cathy (Joe) Ettel, Christopher (Pam) Iversen, Jolene (Lloyd) Brandt, Barbara (Shaun Burnett) Iversen, Carolyn Iversen, Rosanne (Al Rosenthal) Iversen, Peter (Molly) Iversen and Eric (Michelle) Iversen, and his sister Eunice Angst and 17 grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his parents. He will be missed by all for his tenacious will and loving spirit. Visitation Thursday, February 16, 9:30-10:30 A.M. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Dr., Naperville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Thursday, 10:30 A.M. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Dr., Naperville. A luncheon reception will be held at the church directly following the funeral mass. Private Family Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville. All donations will be forwarded to Roger's favorite charity - Fr. James Conard, MM, Maryknoll Missionaries. Fr. Jim has dedicated his life to being a missionary in Tanzania, Africa for over 55 years, building churches, schools and a regional hospital. |
