Sandra “Sandy” Payne, age 72 of Plainfield, IL, at rest Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, IL. Born June 26, 1939 in Ashland, KY, the daughter of the late Alfred and Martha Johnson. Beloved wife of the late Richard “Dick” Payne, loving mother of Dana Payne, Chris (Martha) Payne, Jill (Gordon) Wiitanen and the late Richard B. Payne, cherished grandmother of Diana and Lara Payne and Sarah, Emily and Amy Wiitanen dear sister of Ronald (Joyce) Johnson, Alfred (Helen) Johnson, Janet (Jack) Marushi, JoyBelle (James) McGehee, the late Bernice Lewis and the late Joan Holmes. Sandy will be remembered for being a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Sandy to the American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 2015, Chicago, IL 60674. Visitation Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 10:00 – 12:00 noon with a funeral service to follow at noon.
