Dorothy Faren, age 84, at rest on February 2, 2012 at Provena Villa Franciscan Nursing Center following an illness. Preceded by her parents, Henson and Bessie Murphy, her beloved stepmother Thelma, brothers Robert [Korea], Nelson [Betty] of WV, James of OH, sisters Yvonne Victor of Ohio and Thelma VanVerth of Pennsylvania. Survived by son Larry [Maria] of Shorewood, beloved nieces and nephews, and dear friends Anna & Dale Morris [Channahon], Mary Shelton [Lockport], Joyce Sillar and Ruth Keene [Plainfield] and Aurelia Kling [Montgomery] . Born in Pennsylvania, Dorothy lived in Cleveland and Delaware Ohio from 1948 until moving to Plainfield, IL in 1962 and has lived in Joliet since 1993. She worked at Ohio Wesleyan U. in Delaware, OH, Kerr Glass in Plainfield, the Vendo company in Aurora, J.D. Brown in Plainfield and MetalStamp in Shorewood, then Channahon. In lieu of flowers, family suggests the best way to honor Dorothy's memory is to follow her longtime example and always be there for your friends and family. Memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 or First Apostolic Church,15609 W 159th St, Homer Glen, IL 60491. Visitation from 9-11 AM on Tuesday February 7, with a funeral service to follow at OVERMAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 15219 S.
