“Our family would like to thank you for all your help during our time of loss. We were very impressed with how everything was handled — from your quick response the night of J’s passing — quick and with great respect in removing him from our home, to the processing of all the paperwork and details and to how wonderful he looked at the final private viewing for our family. It meant a lot that we could all be together to see him one final time. Thank you again for everything.”

SUZANN E. SHELEY

Suzann E. Sheley, age 48, a resident of Naperville, IL and formerly of Downers Grove, IL, peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of her family on September 7, 2012 after a courageous nine month battle with cancer.

Suzy is survived by her loving husband, Shannon M. Sheley, whom she met in high school and married June 25, 1988; her cherished children, Brendan, John and Maddie Sheley; her beloved parents, John and Patricia Henneman; her dear brothers, Mark (Mary) Henneman and Todd (Craig Nakano) Henneman; her brothers-in-law, Ryan (Pat), Brynn (Chris), Regan (Molly) Sheley and sister-in-law Nicole (Todd) Maere; her 15 nieces and nephews; her mothers-in-law, Patricia Sheley and Carol Sheley as well as a host of great friends. Preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Jim and Barbara Sheley.

Suzy was a graduate of Northwestern University and completed her Masters Degree in Corporate Public Relations from Northwestern. She began her career with the Jenner & Block Law Firm and developed and headed their Practice Development division. When she and Shannon started their family, Suzy spent the next 21 years lovingly raising her children. She truly enjoyed being involved in their activities, be it Cub Scouts, the Naperville Central Band Boosters or the Naperville Central Poms Squad. Most recently she was the adjunct professor of communications at Waubonsee Community College. Suzy loved camping and exploring the National Parks with her family. Food and friends were central in Suzy’s life.

Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 3:00 until 9:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville. A Celebration of Suzy’s life will begin at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, September 11 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Naperville Cemetery. To truly keep Suzy’s services a celebration, the family requests that no black be worn, !
