Donald R. Ballou, age 84, a lifelong resident of Naperville, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born February 21, 1928 in Aurora, IL.
Beloved husband of Lien (nee Vu) Ballou and the late Joan (nee Hiltenbrand) Ballou, loving father of Kathy Miller of Oswego, IL, Michael (Rose) Ballou of Plainfield, IL, Deborah Memeti of North Aurora, IL and James (Ann) Ballou of Plainfield, adored grandfather of Michael (Tena) Broton, Kim Miller and Denise (Kurt) Smith; Bill Ballou, Amber Hodgman, Crystal (Matt) Gallegos and Danny (Brittany) Ballou; Jeff Memeti; Casey (Mandi) Ballou, Ashley Ballou, Amy (Bryan) Sullivan and Abby Ballou, cherished great-grandfather of twenty-one, devoted son of the late Harry and Mary Ballou, dear brother of Linda (Dennis) Rice of Clearwater, FL and Ronald (the late Joan) Ballou of Tarpon Springs, FL, fond uncle and great-uncle of many.
Don grew up on his family farm on Eola Road, attended Eola Grade School and was a 1946 graduate of Naperville High School. He worked for many years as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #673. After retirement, Don worked as a handyman. He was a longtime member and helped clean SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville for many years.
Visitation Sunday, February 10, 2:00-7:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville.
Services will begin Monday, February 11, 10:30 A.M. from the funeral home and will proceed to an 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
