David E. Lea, age 83, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 1965. At peace, January 19, 2013 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. Born, March 23, 1929 in Joliet, IL. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bernice (nee Wrobel); his devoted children, David (Lois) Lea, Jeff (Carol) Lea and Linda Lea; his eight grandchildren, Angela (David), Austin (Melissa), Alicia, Amanda (Nate), Jessica (Caleb), Jacyln, Cole and A.J., and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Dennis Lea; his parents, Robert and Marie Lea and his sister, Dorothy (the late John) Stec. Dave was a proud US Army Veteran who earned a Bronze Star serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime truck driver for Schiek Motors, as well as a member of Teamsters Local 179. Funeral InformationVisitation will be Wednesday, January 30, 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:30 AM at St Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield. A private family interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
