Jane H. Roberts (nee Lauer), age 87, a resident of Elgin, IL, formerly of Chicago, Hillside and Downers Grove, IL, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville. She was born February 4, 1925 in Lucinda, PA. Beloved wife of the late William J. Roberts, loving mother of Thomas (Elfi) Roberts, Mark (Rose) Roberts, Sue (Evan) Sutherland and Cindy Armstrong, adored grandmother of Erik, Katherine, Kyle, Jenessa, Jack, Rachel and Taylor, devoted daughter of the late Otto and Beatrice Lauer, dear sister of Rita (the late Al) Spear, the late Ronald (Rose) Lauer, Lois (Ed) Urbanus, Joyce (the late Ed) Schmader, Delmar (Stella) Lauer, Frank Lauer and the late Buddy Lauer, fond aunt of many. Jane grew up in Lucinda, PA and moved to Chicago at age 18. She was employed as a secretary for many years at Sears, Roebuck & Co. corporate headquarters, Holman Ave., Chicago. Jane was a devout Catholic who enjoyed taking walks and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Visitation Saturday, February 11, 8:30-10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Saturday, 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Residence. Interment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
