James F. “Jim’ Popp, age 66, a resident of Oswego, IL and formerly of Aurora, IL, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2012. He was born October 4, 1946 in Chicago, IL.
Beloved husband of Linda Lotz-Popp, whom he married June 16, 1989, loving father of Jacquelyn (Michael) Benson of Oak Park, IL and Tyler Popp of Denver, CO, loving step-father of Adriana (James) Herbert of Lisle, IL and the late Erica Caliendo, adored grandfather of Miller, Hunter, Grant, Cole, Kate and Logan, devoted son of the late James and Mary (nee Nichols) Popp, dear brother of William (Ann) Popp of Elk Grove Village, IL, John (Debbie) Popp of Arlington Heights, IL and the late Katherine Leff, fond uncle of many.
Jim served for 18 years in the U.S. Army and for 3 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in November 2004.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be Sunday, December 2, 2:00 until 7:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield.
Funeral Services will be Monday, December 3, 9:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.
Interment with full military honors will follow at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
