Daniel H. “Dan” Kawabata, age 27, a resident of Plainfield, IL, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 10, 1985 in Chicago, IL.

Beloved husband of Jaclyn (nee Resendiz) Kawabata and loving, devoted father of Sophia Kawabata. Cherished son of Gary Kawabata of Naperville, IL and Krystyna (nee Pasieczna) Kawabata of Palatine, IL, dear brother of Jessica Kawabata, cherished grandson of Frances and the late Hideo Kawabata and Wladyslawa Pasieczna and the late Jan Pasieczny. He was the fond uncle of Andrew, Danny, Greyson and Adan, and dear nephew, cousin and friend to many.

Dan was a 2004 graduate of Plainfield Central High School. He was employed as a dock supervisor for Old Dominion Freight Lines in Chicago. Dan was an avid collector of comic books and a sports enthusiast with a deep affection for the Chicago Cubs.

Memorial Visitation Saturday, December 29, 2:00-5:00 P.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road (Corner of Rt. 30 & 59), Plainfield.

Memorial Services will follow Saturday, 5:00 P.M. in the funeral home.

Interment: Private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund for Sophia Kawabata c/o BMO-Harris Bank.
