Robert D. Kuhn, age 98, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2017 at the Kuhn Family Farm in Ridott, IL. He was born on October 28, 1918 in Milton Township/Wheaton, IL.
Bob is survived by his sons, Daniel (Jo Anne) Kuhn of Naperville, IL, Patrick (Sharyn) Kuhn of Ridott, IL and Steven Kuhn of Plainfield, IL; his grandchildren, Keith (Nanette) Kuhn, Kenneth (Nancy) Kuhn, Jennifer (Victor) Burmeister, Sarah (Terry) Gustafson, John S. Kuhn, Patrick (Susan) Kuhn, Kate (Patrick Nagle) Sheahan, Margaret (Rob Radloff) Sheahan, Brighid (Brian) Stemmler and Sean Kuhn; his great-grandchildren, Liam, Aiden and Colin Kuhn, Luke, Jack and Annabelle Kuhn, Zachary (fiancé Karina Baacke) and Ethan Burmeister, Angelica and Miranda Yount, Vanessa Gustafson, David Mathisen, Murren and Owen Nagle-Sheahan; his step-son, Chuck (Jean) Weber; his sisters-in-law, Roseann (the late Robert) Nelson and Betty (the late William) Helm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Diederich Kuhn and their daughter, Linda Sue Kuhn; his second wife, Irene Weber Kuhn; his parents, Edward G. and Agnes Kuhn; his brothers, James (the late Cecilia) Kuhn, John (Angeline) Kuhn, Edward (the late Annabelle) Kuhn; his sisters, Lorraine (the late Leo) Pattermann and Mary (the late Julian) Fessler; his brother-in-law, Clarence (the late Marge) Diederich, Al (Rosie) Diederich and sisters-in-law, Gertrude (the late Carl) Hansen, Ruth (the late Harold) Leenan and Louise (the late Ralph) Burgholzer and Doris (Arlo) Klock.
Bob farmed until he was nearly 90 years old. He worked his farms in the Winfield area on Purnell Rd. and the Batavia area in Fermilab until 1969. Beginning in 1974 Bob farmed with his son Pat in the Ridott area for 30 years. A resident of Warrenville for many years, Bob resided in Plainfield and finally in Ridott, IL. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Good Shepherd Council #5573, an active parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield, and a member of the Will County and DuPage County Farm Bureau.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. An additional visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, 1820 Church Road, Aurora. Interment will follow at Annunciation Cemetery, Aurora.
