Mary L. McManis (nee Reynolds), age 92, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 1996, formerly of Morral, OH and Dwight, IL, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Lakewood Living Center, Plainfield, IL. She was born February 22, 1920 in Harpster, OH. Beloved wife of the late James E. McManis, loving mother of David (Anne) McManis of Plainfield and Joan (Nathan) Safford of Nixa, MO, adored grandmother of Michael (Paula) McManis, Richard (Lisa) McManis, Kathleen (Michael) Scanlon and Patrick (Kathleen) McManis; Sherri Sears and Brian (Holly) Safford, cherished great-grandmother of Connor; Katey, Haley and Sabryna; Ryan, Kevin and Aaron Scanlon; Elijah James McManis; Ashley, Dillon and Austin Sears; Jake Safford, great-great grandmother of Izabella and Amara, devoted daughter of the late Samuel and Edith (nee Auspaugh) Reynolds, dear sister of the late Annie, Dorothy and William, fond aunt of many. Mary grew up on a farm near the town of Harpster in Wyandot County, Ohio. She was a graduate of Harpster High School and later married James E. McManis, a railroad worker, in 1939 and settled in Morral, OH. Mary was a caring homemaker who loved her family and will be fondly remembered as an excellent cook and baker. Visitation Thursday, November 8, 9:30-11:00 A.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road (Corner of Rts. 30 & 59), Plainfield. Funeral Services will follow Thursday, 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. David Medow officiating. Interment: Wheatland Township Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
