ROBERT F. KARL

Robert F. Karl, age 87, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1947, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. He was born November 8, 1924 in Chicago, IL.

Bob is survived by his eight loving children, Robert J. (Therese) Karl, Larry (Rosemary) Karl, Richard (Meg) Karl, Linda (Jay) Dexter, Donna (Michael Bevis) Karl, Mary (Paul Allmaras) Hoffman, Sharon (Michael) Galway and Greg (Michelle) Karl; his nineteen cherished grandchildren and seven adored great-grandchildren; his dear brothers, Edward and George Karl and sisters, Marie Mateski, Dorothy Karl and Doris Karl. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret “Peggy” Karl in 2005.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was a former member of SS Peter & Paul Church and currently a member of St Raphael Church. At St Raphael, Bob devoted his time as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector and was involved on several parish committees. He was a devout Catholic and attended daily Mass and as part of his ministry he visited the residents at Manor Care and Alden of Naperville. Bob enjoyed the game of golf and playing cards with his friends.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 3:00 until 8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5, 12:30 PM at St Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Rd, Naperville. Interment will follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
