Edward J. "Ed" Graham

October 31, 1931 - October 16, 2017

Edward J. "Ed" Graham, age 85, of Yorkville, IL, formerly of Naperville, IL 1973-1991, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville. He was born October 31, 1931 in Chicago.

Beloved husband of the late Mary "Connie" Graham (nee Montroy), whom he married August 13, 1955 and who preceded him in death on December 6, 2012, loving father of Maureen (Michael) Kuehne of Naperville, Connie Graham of Crest Hill, IL, Diane (Richard) Grimley of Naperville, Edward (Linette) Graham of Naperville, Jackie (Terry) Woods of Plano, IL and Megan (David) Peterson of Princeton, MN, adored grandfather of Ryan, Kimberlie and Sean Kuehne; Kevin (Meghan) Grimley, Shannon (Max) Merkin and Danny Grimley; Anna, Mary and Eddie Graham; Clint (Therese) Woods; Maggie Peterson, cherished great-grandfather of Owen, Maeve and Nora Woods; Liam and Teagan Grimley; Mason and Finn Merkin, devoted son of the late Edward and Agnes (nee Girton) Graham, dear brother-in-law of Margie (the late Bill) Dart of Chicago, Shelia (Mike Campbell) Keeley of Arizona and the late Patrick (Patricia) Montroy and the late Jim Keeley, fond uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.

Ed grew up in Youngstown, OH, attended Urusline High School (Class of 1949) and graduated Magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN with a bachelor degree in Economics. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War stationed in Germany and began his employment career at Illinois Bell/AT&T. Ed later joined W.R. Grace Co., New York City, NY and worked for a subsidiary, Dewey & Almy Co., Atlanta, GA and Chicago., retiring as a Senior Sales Executive in 1997 after 37 years.

He was a former member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville and was a current member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Yorkville. Ed embraced his Irish heritage and was an enthusiastic fan of the University of Notre Dame sports, especially the football team. He also enjoyed woodworking, making stained glass and coaching girls softball.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017, 3:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Additional Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 9:00-10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Residence Chapel, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville, IL 60563, (630) 416-6565, www.stpatricksresidence.org  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Residence.

Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
