Walter A. Korol, age 67, a Plainfield, IL resident since 2005, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his home after a long illness. He was born January 18, 1950 in Germany.
Beloved husband of Bonnie Korol (nee Shonfield), whom he married May 16, 2003, loving father of Michael Korol and Karen Korol of Plainfield, IL, adored grandfather of Zachary Korol and Jax Wellehan; devoted son of the late Felix and Wladyslawa "Lottie" Korol, fond nephew of William Sudol of Arlington Heights, IL and Chester Sudol of Niles, IL, dear friend of many.
Of Polish origin, Walter came with his family to the United States from Germany at the age of one, settling on Chicago’s Northwest Side. He was a 1968 graduate of Weber High School, attended Morton Community College, Cicero and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, from 1970-1971. Walter was employed for many years as a computer specialist. He was a 30 year member and secretary of the Berwyn/Cicero Chapter of VietNow and enjoyed fishing.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 11, 2017, 11:00 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL60544, (815) 436-2651.
A luncheon reception will follow at the church.
