Matthew Carlton Bovell

Matthew Carlton Bovell, 55, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Edward Hospital.  He was born June 15, 1961 in New York City.  Cherished husband of Patricia (Tricia) M. Bovell, wed September 2, 2000.  Adored father of Olivia Bovell.  Dearest brother of Rachel (Ken) DaSilva and uncle of Joshua and Jacob DaSilva from Denton County, Texas.  Brother-in-law of Jim Lightfoot of Rockford, IL and Gary (Trish) Lightfoot of Rockford, IL.  Devoted uncle to many Lightfoot kids and especially loved long discussions with Cole and Seth.  Much-loved nephew of Carlton (Anna) Bovell of Marin County, California.  Preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Carolyn Bovell.  Matt graduated from Glen Cove High School, Glen Cove, New York, Class of 1979.  He was a proud 1983 graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics.  Matt was a 23-year dedicated employee of IBM, loved being a manager, and maintained strong friendships with former colleagues over the years. He later founded Vell Group where he was a Webinar Producer.  He also served as SNEC-PMI Chapter President.  He enjoyed lively discussions about television, music, movies and politics and was an insightful, entertaining and prolific writer/blogger. Highlight of his life was to become a father.
