Betty R. Eberhard (nee Claassen), age 94, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Ottawa Pavilion, Ottawa, IL. She was born April 28, 1923 in Aurora, IL.

Beloved wife of 70 years to Clarence C. Eberhard, who preceded her in death September 4, 2014, loving mother of Charles (Lauren) Eberhard of Seneca, IL, David (Judy) Eberhard of Oswego, IL, Sarah (James) Coleman of Mendota, IL and Paul (Debbie) Eberhard of Cartersville, GA, adored grandmother of Michael (Anna Peabody) Eberhard and Melissa Eberhard; Justin, David (Devon) Eberhard and Jodi (Glenn) Dewyea; Jason, Brian and Steffanie Eberhard; Tonie (Mark) Venable and Dennis (Jennifer) Coleman, cherished great-grandmother of nine, devoted daughter of the late Fred and Sarah (nee Wheeler) Claassen, dear sister of Elnathan “Nate” (Judy) Claassen of Albuquerque, NM and six deceased siblings and their spouses, Doris (Frank) Smith, Jeri (Jerry) Stastney, Fred (Nancy) Claassen, Elizabeth (Al) Erhart, Virginia (Phil) Austin and Bob (Carol) Claassen, fond aunt and great-aunt of many.

Betty grew up in Oswego, IL and was a graduate of Oswego High School. She loved to travel with her husband, Clarence, and enjoyed camping and fishing. Betty was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.  She will be remembered as a loving, devoted and hardworking homemaker.

Funeral Information

Visitation Wednesday, May 17, 10:00 – 11:30 AM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL.

Funeral services Wednesday, 11:30 AM in the funeral home with Rev. David Medow officiating.

Interment: St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.
