Ben Bies, age 93, of Plainfield, IL, formerly of the Southside of Chicago, at rest Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Lakewood Nursing Center in Plainfield, IL. Born October 27, 1918 in Homestead, PA, loving son of the late Jozef and Walerya Bies. Beloved husband of the late Marie Bies, loving father of Diane (Gerard) Bardachowski, Dr. Ron (Sue) Bies and Don (Anna) Bies, cherished grandfather of Kim (Andrew) Trefonas, Jenny, Christopher, Stacey (Scott) Nixon, Anne (Michael) Dreger, Greg, Benjamin and Elizabeth, fond great-grandfather of Matthew, Madelynn, Margaret, Andrew and Olive. Served in the United States Army/Air Corp during World War II. The family would like to thank the staff of Lakewood Nursing Center for all of their support and kindness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60544. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL. Visitation Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S.
