James Schlax

James K. Schlax, age 84, was born July 14, 1928 in Chicago, IL and passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 9, 2012.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ellen Schlax and his brother, Francis (Mary) Schlax. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Christine; and his brother Jerre (Mary) Schlax and the many nieces and nephews of which Jim was the “dearest uncle.”

Jim was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he performed many charitable duties. He was retired from the partnership of Woods-Schlax Co. He was an avid golfer and was a starter at Cantigny Golf Course.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 14, 12:00 Noon at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd, Naperville. Family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the church. According to Jim’s wishes, interment will be private.
