“Dear Mr. Jones,
Thank you for your professional, compassionate spirit at my grandfather, T. G’s, funeral. I remember when you buried my grandmother 25 years ago (I was 7!), and your smiling face is just the same. The professionalism of your staff will always stand out in my mind when I remember this time. That is a precious gift. Thank you.
In peace,”

Lois Jane Walsh

September 10, 1945 - June 21, 2012

Lois Jane Walsh (Paolillo), age 66, a longtime resident of Naperville, IL died peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.

Beloved wife of Bob Walsh for the past 44 years, loving mother of Emmett Walsh of Knoxville, TN, Nicole Walsh of New York, NY, Andrea (Tom) Grace of Naperville, IL and Matthew (Aimee) Walsh of Madison, WI, adored Nana of Nick, Abby, Jack and Ella Grace; Sebastian and Maya Walsh, devoted daughter of the late Thelma and Louis Paolillo, sister of Robert (Dottie) Paolillo of Princeton, NJ, Aunt of 27 nieces and nephews, friend to many.

Lois grew up in Queens, NY and, after graduating from Rosary Hill College, Buffalo, NY, Lois taught High School English. In 1967 she joined her husband in Germany while he was serving in the US Army where she prepared GI’s for the GED Exam. She later began a career in nursing and worked many years at Central DuPage Hospital in the Emergency Room. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Naperville. She was a voracious reader, loved to travel and was forever searching for new knowledge. She loved a good laugh; spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Lois will be remembered for the courage and grace she exhibited during her progressive illness which took away her ability to write, walk, speak and eventually eat. Lois’ mind remained strong throughout it all and she never lost her sense of humor. She was an extraordinary person and an inspiration to many.

Memorial Visitation Friday, June 29, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville.

Family and friends will meet Saturday, June 30th to celebrate a 10:00 A.M. Memorial Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville.

Interment: Private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60607, (312) 738-7560, www.mercyhome.org
