Arthur C. Campbell

November 24, 1941 - March 19, 2017

Arthur C. Campbell, age 75, a resident of Plainfield, IL and formerly of Glendale Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on November 24, 1941 in Butler County, PA.

Arthur is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Sherry (nee Blom); his loving children, Jeffrey C. Campbell of Plainfield, IL and Samantha Foskett of Minooka, IL; his cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jr., Nicole Marie and Dylan Raymond Campbell, Holly Melissa Foskett and Benjamin Austin Phillips; his dear siblings, Jean (the late Bob) Campbell Fry, Vera (Leslie) Campbell Edinboro and William (Carole) Campbell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cory Austin Bazdor; his parents, Richard and Viletta Campbell; his siblings, Reed (the late Betty) Campbell, George (Gayle) Campbell, Bruce (the late Peggy) Campbell, Jim (the late Joan) Campbell and Joan (the late Lou) Campbell Bell.

Arthur was born and raised in western Pennsylvania and was part of the last graduating class of Concord High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1962. He retired at the age of 55 from the Chicago Transit Authority after 32 years of loyal service. He was a Deacon at the First Christian Church of Glen Ellyn and was currently a member of Grace Bible Church, Minooka. Arthur will be remembered as a loving husband and father and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 5:00 until 9:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 24, 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Miley officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.
