Richard L. “Dick” Dooley, age 82, a lifelong resident of Lisle, IL, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora, IL. He was born March 8, 1929 in Chicago, IL. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte Mae (nee Delaney) Dooley, whom he married September 16, 1950, loving father of Richard Lee (Patricia) Dooley of Oswego, IL and Timothy James (Vivian) Dooley of Yorkville, IL, adored grandfather of Jay Alan Dooley, Brandon Richard Dooley, Richard Todd (Amber) Dooley and Denton Wade Dooley, cherished great-grandfather of Ryker, devoted son of the late John and Florence (nee Bourgeois) Dooley, loving brother of James (Anne) Dooley, Patricia (the late Casimir) Pekala, Daniel (the late Ginny) Dooley, Terry (the late Pat) Dooley, Sheila (Frank) Prue, Tom (the late Marcia) Dooley and the late Florence (the late Albert) Konder, the late Edward Dooley, the late Elizabeth (the late Joseph) Delaney, the late John (the late Rozella) Dooley, the late Eileen Dooley, the late Robert E. "Bob"(the late Ida) Dooley and the late W. Michael (the late Alma) Dooley, proud uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle and great-great-great-uncle of many. Dick moved to Lisle as a youth and attended St. Joan of Arc Grade School where he met his future wife, Charlotte. He served with the U.S Army, stationed in Japan, during the Korean War. Dick worked for many years as a mechanic and service manager for various Chicago area Ford car dealerships and later for AirTran in Naperville. He was a lifelong member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Lisle and loved automobiles and NASCAR. Visitation Monday, February 20, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville. Services will begin Tuesday, February 21, 9:15 A.M. from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:00A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Kingston & Front Streets, Lisle. Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: American Cancer Society. |
