Janet J. O’Brien, age 68 of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2012 after a nearly a yearlong battle with esophageal cancer. Born July 10, 1943 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Chester and Olive Zielinski. Janet married the love of her life, the late Edward J. O’Brien, on April 27, 1965 and for nearly 43 years, they shared love, life and laughter. Loving mother of Kimberly O’Brien, Karen (Steve Semkiw) O’Brien and Kelly O’Brien and cherished grandmother of Mikey Daum. Doting aunt of Tadeusz Zielinski. Janet graduated from Tuley High School in 1961. Before her retirement, Janet worked as an assembly technician of dialysis equipment for Baxter Laboratories in Mountain Home, AK., moving back to Plainfield in 2009, much to the delight of her daughters. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431. A private family inurnment will be held at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.
