James E. "Jim" Riley

January 21, 1939 - February 10, 2017

James E. "Jim" Riley, age 78, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1974, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at The British Home in Brookfield, IL after a long illness.  He was born January 21, 1939 in Bloomville, OH.

Beloved husband of M. Jean Riley (nee Kagy), whom he married July 4, 1964, loving father of James E. (Michelle) Riley II of Hinsdale, IL and Joel E. (Michelle) Riley of Glen Ellyn, IL, adored grandfather of Tom, Caitlin and Francis, devoted son of the late Frank and Esther (nee Shook) Riley, dear brother of John (Mary) Riley of Florida and the late Sue Riley, brother-in-law of Ron (Linda) Kagy of Bloomville, OH, fond uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.

Jim grew up in Bloomville, OH, attended Bloomville School (Class of 1957) and received a degree in Business from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, OH. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and later worked as a commodities broker at the Chicago Board of Trade for over 20 years. Jim was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and a former member of Cress Creek Country Club, both in Naperville. He enjoyed playing golf.

Funeral Information

 Visitation Monday, February 13, 2017, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville. 

A funeral service will follow Monday, 6:00 PM in the funeral home with Deacon Larry Kearney officiating.

An additional visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017, 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Lindsey Olds Funeral Home, 3085 OH-19, Bloomville, OH 44818, (419) 983-2111.

A funeral service will follow Saturday, 2:00 PM in the funeral home.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville, OH.
