Joseph F. Zver, “Joe”, age 85, of Naperville and longtime of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2013. He was born March 22, 1927 in Chicago. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilyn, nee Maher; his loving children, Mary Anna (Al) Shackelford, Joseph G. (Kathleen) Zver and Cathy (Glen) Hoffman; his grandsons, Jesse Shackelford and Matt Hoffman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Mary Zver and his brothers, Sylvester, Ferdinand, Mathias, Carl (the late Gladys) and Edward (the late Angeline) Zver. Joe was a proud US Army 11th Airborne Paratrooper Division veteran of WW II, Pacific Theatre. He was a longtime active parishioner of St Ferdinand Church, Chicago, a member of the Holy Cross Society, an active member of SS Peter & Paul Parish and a volunteer at Loaves & Fishes pantry. He was also a longtime active member of North Suburban Carvers. Funeral InformationVisitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14, 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth, Naperville. Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
