Ryan Christopher Durkin

December 27, 1997 - April 21, 2017

Ryan Christopher Durkin, age 19, a Naperville, IL resident since 2003, formerly of Brookfield, IL, passed on unexpectedly Friday, April 21, 2017.  He was born December 27, 1997 in Maywood, IL.

Beloved son of Earl and Dawn Abbatacola Durkin (nee Valtman), loving brother of Brianna Durkin, cherished grandson of Richard and Annette Valtman of Brookfield, IL and the late Earl Daniel and Eleanor Durkin, adored nephew of Denise (Tom) Borchers of Naperville and David Valtman of Brookfield; Errol (Pam) Durkin of Niles, MI and Ida (Herb) Eiskamp of Manteno, IL, dear cousin and friend of many.

Ryan moved to Naperville as a kindergartner, attended Maplebrook Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High School and was a 2016 graduate of Naperville Central High School, where he was a member of the gymnastics team. He was currently attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Ryan began his long involvement in gymnastics through The Sokol, an all-age gymnastics organization in Chicago and its suburbs. He was a member and coach at Premier Gymnastics Academy West in Oswego, IL and also coached for the Naperville Park District gymnastics programs.

Funeral Information

Visitation Wednesday, April 26, 2017, 3:00-9:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.  

A celebration of Ryan's life will be held Thursday, April 27, 10:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Marc Abbatacola officiating.

Interment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
