Raymond “Ray” Graham, age 93, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 1957, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at his home. He was born April 7, 1919 in Okmulgee, OK.

Beloved husband of Cecile (nee LeBlanc) Graham, whom he married December 25, 1948, loving father of Joan (Ron) Senffner, adored grandfather of Jason (Shelley) Senffner of Yorkville, IL and Sarah (Tim) Kanive of Aurora, IL, cherished great-grandfather of Peyton and Mackenzie Senffner, devoted son of the late John P. and Zelma (nee Cooper) Graham, dear brother of Ina West and the late Cora Proctor, Evert, Ernest and Fred Graham, fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Ray served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. Ray was employed by U.S. National Weather Bureau for 31 years as a weather instrument repairman, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the American Legion Post #13, Plainfield. Ray enjoyed fishing, boat racing, attending auto races, gardening and reading but most of all spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandpa, you “rock”.

Ray will be remembered as a kind, compassionate and patient man – a “one of a kind”.

Visitation Wednesday, June 13, 9:30-11:30 A.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road (Corner of Rts. 30 & 59), Plainfield.

Funeral Services will follow Wednesday, 11:30 A.M. in the funeral home with Chaplain Dee Goodale officiating.

Future Inurnment: St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Joliet Area Community Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
