Valentine Novicki II

May 19, 1949 - January 20, 2016

Valentine (Val) Novicki II, age 66, of Dubois, Wyoming passed away peacefully in his daughter's home (Plainfield, IL) on January 20, 2016 from Parkinsons due to exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He was born May 19, 1949 in Warren, Ohio to the loving late parents of Matthew and Irene (Walli) Novicki. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marsha (Hart) Novicki, daughters Kara Novicki of Aurora, CO, Leah (Brent) Klapperich of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren Keegan and Skyler Klapperich, Henry and Natalie Szekley; sister Neomi (Francis) Colburn of Huntsburg, OH. Val enjoyed running where he still holds a time record in track at Bristolville High School. He served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam. He then moved to Wyoming and started his career as a City Firefighter in Casper, Wyoming. He was a valued member of the Firefighting community and member of the 3-Time Combat Challenge National Championship team in the 1990's. Val also enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, trapping and fishing, thus spent some of his time in Wyoming and Montana guiding hunters with various Guiding services. He also was a creative mind that had his own construction company and took on many projects big and small to bring functionality and beauty into homes. One of his many adventures led him to the riding of several legs of the Pony Express thru Wyoming in the 1980's for the historic celebration of the 100-year Pony Express re-ride. He was a man that enjoyed working with other people and touched the lives of many throughout his life. He was an outdoors man in every sense and loved being outside in the mountains and exploring all the areas that he could in Wyoming and the US. He made friends wherever he went and has shared many adventures with family and friends that brings a smile to everyone's face and warms your heart. Everyone will remember his smile as this one simple gesture can change your day or life.

Funeral Information

There will be a celebration of Val's life, including brunch at Swine Creek Lodge 16004 Hayes Rd, Middlefield, OH on February 13th 10am-1pm. Services in Wyoming are being planned.
